AHSC ID Guides and Logos
The Role of the Graphic Identity
A graphic identity unifies an organization. It lets the world know that all our units are working together to fulfill our promise. Simply put, a graphic identity gives us the same last name.
One of our most valuable assets. A strong, historically linked graphic identity supports our promise of a strong, student-centered research institution and allows for emotional investment by our campus and outside communities. A graphic identity often centers on a visual symbol, or logo, that is used to represent all units within the institution.
Marketplace advantage. The University of Arizona logos compare favorably with those of our peer institutions. They help us stand out in a crowd that is becoming increasingly competitive.
AHSC graphic identity guidelines
The Arizona Health Sciences Center guidelines provide a strategy for presenting the college in a cohesive and powerful way to diverse internal and external audiences. The guidelines assist communicators in consistent and effective use of these graphic elements across all media, print and electronic.
Who are the guidelines for?
All academic, research, outreach, student services and administrative units that are funded through or by the university, and are not legally autonomous, must follow the guidelines described here. External entities that create print or electronic publications for any Arizona Health Sciences Center departments, sections or units also are required to follow the guidelines.
Graphic identity program oversight
The Arizona Health Sciences graphic identity program is administered through the Division of Biomedical Communications. Biomedical Communications works with various health sciences units to oversee implementation of the guidelines.
- General questions regarding the guidelines and use of the logos may be directed to AHSC Brand Advocate Darla Keneston.
- Policy questions or requests for a variance should be directed to Co-Director UAID-AHSC Rita Ellsworth.
Use of logos on merchandise
Official UA departments, clubs and organizations who wish to apply a UA logo or trademark to a product first will need approval from The University of Arizona's Office of Trademarks and Licensing. This applies to all items whether given away or sold.
Official departments, clubs or organizations of The University of Arizona may submit art approval requests directly to the Trademarks and Licensing Office, when the request for use is not intended for retail (i.e. resold for profit).
